October is Over!?

This was drawn from memory. Old memories from TV and the zoo. I have just added a section to the new book called 'Memory Training' that starts out like this:

"Working from memory is an essential skill. The artist studies the subject, then turns to the canvas to apply paint. While looking at the canvas he is using memory. Another artist may carefully study the subject... no paint, no sketchbook, no notes. Later in the studio memory is the only reference. Anyone can develop an amazing ability to draw and paint from memory. In other fields the value of memorization is taken for granted, but never in art? Actually, it was and still is. Discover the benefits working from memory can provide."

And then I give several method for improving your observational skills and memory.
